The State Police has warned citizens about a fraudulent scheme aimed at obtaining online loans, but fortunately no people have been affected.
The State Police spokesperson, Genti Mullaji, stated in “Kohë Reale” that the Cybercrime Directorate has intervened in time, preventing possible consequences.
“No citizen has been affected by this fraudulent scheme because the Cybercrime Directorate has intervened in time. There are no people who have filed a complaint. An internet thief targets those requests that have more community. At the post office, everyone makes an online purchase, especially online purchases are terrible. Even with credit because they have it easy since there are citizens with difficult economic conditions and request credit without meeting many conditions and at first it seems easy to get the credit and they fall prey to this fraud,” said Mullaji.
He added that fraud schemes are not random, but well-studied by the perpetrators, who exploit citizens’ digital weaknesses.
“The risk analysis has revealed that there is no specific category of citizens, but those who do not have digital knowledge fall prey to them. There is no age target. They study the market well and intervene to deceive,” emphasized Mullaji.
The police call on citizens to be careful of suspicious offers for loans or online purchases, always verifying the source and security of the platforms where they carry out transactions/SOT
